Your information. Your choices.

Privacy Policy

Start with a conversation, not a data transfer. Here is what we collect, how we use it, and how you stay in control.

Effective October 9, 2026 · Version 2026-10-09.1

At a glance

A few basics before the details.

  • We use your business details and data descriptions to assess opportunities and follow up with you.
  • We ask before sharing your identity or contact details with a potential buyer or partner for their own use.
  • An inquiry gives no permission to sell your datasets or use them to train AI.
  • You can ask us to stop contacting you, object to processing, or make a privacy request at any time.

1. Who and what this covers

This policy describes how DataProceeds (also referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you visit this website, submit a business inquiry, communicate with our team, or make a privacy request. DataProceeds is responsible for deciding how inquiry information is used for the purposes described here. “You” means the visitor or business representative providing information.

This policy covers the inquiry process. Any later access to, preparation of, licensing of, or transfer of a business dataset requires a separate review and appropriate written agreements. Other websites and services have their own privacy practices.

Contact the DataProceeds team about privacy through our privacy request form. You do not need to submit a business opportunity or agree to sales follow-up to use it.

2. Information we collect and its sources

We collect information directly from you, from your correspondence with us, and automatically through operation of the website.

  • Required inquiry details: your name, email address, business or organization name, employee count, industry, and selected data categories. If you select an “Other” option, we collect the description you provide.
  • Optional business context: your phone number, website, country or region, goals, and high-level descriptions of your data, its volume, history, systems, ownership or permissions, and readiness for an opportunity. You can leave optional fields unanswered.
  • Inquiry and communication records: messages and responses, a submission reference, timestamps, source information, and the wording and version of the acknowledgement accepted with your submission.
  • Privacy request information: the contact details, request type, reference, and explanation you submit, together with correspondence and information reasonably needed to verify and resolve the request.
  • Technical information: aggregate interaction counts and operational information needed to provide and protect the service. Our rate-limiting system uses short-lived, keyed hashes derived from an IP address. Hosting and delivery providers may process IP addresses, request metadata, security logs, and message delivery information.

Send summaries only. Do not include actual workplace messages, raw datasets, passwords, payment information, health information, identification documents, personal information about employees or customers, or trade secrets. A general description of a data category is enough to begin. If we need a deeper review, we will arrange the process and safeguards separately.

3. How and why we use information

We use relevant information to review your inquiry, understand your business and the categories of data you describe, assess potential fit with data opportunities, and communicate with you about that review and related opportunities. We may also prepare a non-identifying summary to assess potential buyer interest.

We use contact information to acknowledge submissions, ask follow-up questions, discuss next steps, and maintain the business relationship you requested. If you provide a phone number, our team may contact you manually about your inquiry. Your submission does not sign you up for an unrelated newsletter or authorize automated marketing calls or texts.

We also process necessary information to operate and improve the website, prevent fraud and abuse, troubleshoot delivery, respond to privacy requests, keep appropriate business and permission records, comply with applicable obligations, and establish or defend legal claims. We do not use inquiry contents for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Where a legal basis is required: processing may be necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract, where applicable, or for our legitimate interests in responding to business inquiries, evaluating relevant opportunities, operating a secure service, and maintaining appropriate records. We consider your rights and reasonable expectations when relying on legitimate interests. We rely on consent where it is legally required and on legal obligations where applicable. A checkbox is not a blanket waiver of privacy rights or the legal basis for every use.

You can ask us to stop opportunity follow-up at any time. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

4. Who may receive information

We limit access to information needed for the purposes described in this policy. Recipients may include:

  • Our team and service providers: people supporting inquiries, hosting, storage, security, and communications. This website uses ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure, including Cloudflare D1 for records, and Resend for email delivery. The receiving email service also processes delivered messages. Providers receive information needed to perform their roles, subject to applicable terms and protections.
  • Professional advisers: legal, accounting, or other advisers when reasonably necessary, under confidentiality duties or appropriate safeguards.
  • Potential buyers or opportunity partners: we may use a non-identifying business and data summary to assess fit. We ask your permission before sharing information that identifies your business or gives a buyer or partner your contact details for their own purposes. You may decline.
  • Legal or business circumstances: disclosures required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the service. Information may also be reviewed or transferred in a financing, merger, acquisition, or reorganization, with confidentiality and other appropriate safeguards and any notice required by law.

We do not sell inquiry personal information through this website or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not provide form submissions to third-party AI services for analysis or model training as part of this inquiry service.

5. Inquiry information is separate from a dataset

Submitting the form authorizes the limited inquiry handling described here and in our Terms. It does not transfer ownership of data, establish your right to monetize it, or grant a license to sell, publish, train AI on, or otherwise exploit your business datasets.

A potential transaction requires separate written terms addressing the parties, data scope, permitted uses, recipients, rights, fees, and necessary privacy and security protections. That review must address applicable law, employee or customer rights, confidentiality obligations, third-party contracts, and required permissions. Describing data as anonymized does not by itself establish that it is safe or lawful to share.

6. Cookies, analytics, and technical safeguards

We use first-party aggregate counts for interactions such as button clicks, form starts, optional-detail expansion, successful submissions, and errors. These events do not contain form answers or personal identifiers, and our analytics do not use cookies.

We do not use advertising pixels or session replay on this website. Hosting providers may use necessary security or service cookies and process network information to deliver and protect the site. This differs from using cookies to build an advertising profile. Your browser can control or delete cookies, although blocking necessary cookies may affect site features.

Short-lived rate-limit identifiers help protect forms from abuse. Inquiry contents are not included in our aggregate analytics events or placed in public page URLs.

7. Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for its purpose. Relevant factors include whether an inquiry or relationship remains active, whether you have requested further contact, the information needed to document permissions or honor a stop-contact request, applicable legal obligations, and reasonable periods for resolving disputes or defending claims. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to necessary legal retention and normal backup processes.

We use administrative and technical measures intended to limit access and protect information. No website, storage system, or email transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not use these forms to transmit confidential datasets or sensitive personal information.

Privacy requests are stored for review even when automated email delivery is unavailable. We retain a proportionate record of requests and their resolution to document compliance and respect your choices.

8. International processing

Our service providers and team may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those where you live. Where applicable law requires additional safeguards for an international transfer, we must put appropriate safeguards in place before making that transfer. You can ask about the locations and safeguards relevant to your information through the privacy request form.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

You can leave optional fields blank, decline a proposed introduction or transaction, and ask us to stop opportunity follow-up. Use our privacy request form or reply to an existing conversation with the team. We may retain limited information to honor your request, and may still send a necessary response to your privacy request or an existing service matter.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to know about and access your personal information; correct inaccuracies; request deletion; receive a portable copy; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a privacy decision. You may also complain to the relevant data protection or privacy authority. These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, and requesting a right will not result in unlawful discrimination.

Making a request: provide a way for us to respond, the nature of your request, and any useful inquiry reference. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity and authority, particularly before releasing or deleting information. Do not upload an identity document or other sensitive proof through the form. An authorized agent may make a request, subject to appropriate verification of their authority.

Requests are reviewed by a person; submission does not automatically delete records or stop all processing. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any extension, limitation, or refusal as required. To appeal a decision, use the same form, identify the earlier request, and explain why you disagree. The form is available separately from the opportunity inquiry and does not require agreement to opportunity follow-up.

10. Children and updates to this policy

This website is intended for business representatives who are at least 18. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly seek information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided information, please let us know through the privacy request form so we can review and address it.

We may update this policy as our services or practices change. The effective date and version above identify the current policy. We will provide additional notice or obtain permission when required by law. A later policy will not retroactively expand a permission you previously gave.
